Allow your personal narrative to unfurl within the strokes of Laurence Chandler’s abstract canvas through our bespoke Commissioned Artwork service. Tailor-made for art admirers seeking to own a unique expression of their vision, Chandler’s commissioned pieces transcend typical art acquisition, creating a deeply personal journey from inception to collection.

Steeped in decades of artistic experience, Chandler adeptly fuses his intuitive mark-making and vibrant color palettes with your personal inspirations, resulting in artworks that speak directly to your soul.

Perhaps, you want a custom painting inspired by one of his existing works, but you wish to adjust the color palette or composition size to better suit your space. A custom painting is the perfect solution if you've fallen in love with one of his sold paintings or for an interior designer working with commercial clients who want a curated collection based on Chandler's existing works. Commissioning a painting also is the perfect approach when you want a work based on your vision or most cherished memories -- whether it's a special vacation, a beloved destination or a unique milestone.

To begin the commission process, choose “Type” (canvas or paper). Follow prompts to complete and submit the “Commission Request” form, including subject matter, size or anything else you want in the artwork. Chandler will contact you to discuss your request. If agreeable, we will draw up a contract outlining all details of the commission, including cost, payment terms and deadlines. Throughout the process, Chandler will send updates and progress shots of the commissioned work. His goal will be to create a work that meets your needs and expectations.

  • Works on Canvas:

Canvases feature painted gallery-wrapped sides, from 1 1/2-inches to 4-inches deep, giving observers a full 180-degree experience. Canvases are coated with a non-toxic varnish which gives them a satin finish, protects the artwork and makes them cleanable. Canvases are wired and ready-to-hang, either as-is or framed with your preferred canvas moulding.

  • Works on Paper:

Works on paper are matted - float mounted on an acid-free board to show the original work's deckled-edge, then single or double-matted. Mats are generally 2 1/2 to 3 inches wide with a 1/2 to 1-inch margin around the art. In the bottom margin, Chandler often handwrites the work's title. Works on paper require glass to protect the artwork from dust, light and physical damage, and your preferred moulding (frame) to add structure and support for hanging,
